JOE DIMAGGIO CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL & CENTRAL ENERGY PLANT
The new Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, a South Florida freestanding children’s hospital and the first in Broward and Palm Beach counties. The new four-story Children’s Hospital, located in Hollywood, Florida, showcases an overall theme of “Power of Play” with each floor presenting themes of Sports, Arts, Games, and Dreams. The building contains a pediatric ambulatory and laboratory facility, family resource centers, surgical services, a 24-bed inpatient unit, pediatric imaging services, an outpatient hematology/oncology center and a 24-bed inpatient hematology/oncology unit. In addition, we constructed an elevated fully-enclosed walkway joining the New Children’s Hospital and the existing children’s hospital facilities inside Memorial Regional Hospital. The facility is fully hurricane protected with impact windows and walls. This project includes the construction of a new Central Plant with new cooling towers, chillers and generators. We provided full three dimensional modeling to coordinate the routing of all the new underground piping with the existing piping.
